Hey everyone, I had a chance to play with a M&P 9mm. the other day and really liked it. Does anyone here have any experience with one, I plan on using it for mostly just playing at the range, but I also plan on getting my Black Badge too so it may serve a competition role as well.

Thanks :50cal:

I like mine so far...trigger takes a little getting used to and I may have to drift the rear sight a bit, but I'm getting a little better with it each time out. In terms of reloading for it, I'm wondering if the firing pin strikes a little too softly for CCI primers...will have to do some experimenting before I can say for sure on that.

They're really good guns. Once the trigger cleans itself up, and you adapt to it (it's a bit like a two stage rifle trigger) they are terrific! Mine runs like a top, has about 1500 rounds through it no FTF, FTE or other failures. Smooth shooting and very fast (two shots quick enough that both casings are in the air) with the ability to put quick shots on top of each other. As far as the primer question goes, mine went through a few hundred CF 9mm with crimped in (SMG) military primers - no issue at all. After I get my next 1911, I'm getting an M&P in 45.

just got mine a week or so ago.. i haven't had a chance to take it out to the range yet... at $625 brand new i couldn't pass it up!

I have a .40 M&P and a 9mm for the wife is on order. I used the .40 for my Black Badge last May. The only thing I would make sure you get, which is why the 9mm is on order, is NO mag safety. For competition you have to prove your pistol 'safe' and thus always need an empty mag to insert and decock the gun by pulling the trigger. My 40 has the mag safety and I am used to it, and I think it is a great safety feature but a PIA for competition. I have over 5000 rounds through the 40 thus far and of all my pistols I still like it the best. Get a Blade-Tech holster and you'll be off to the races....good luck!

+1 on the mag safety being a PIA. If you search there are quite a few opinions on the M&P. Personally I prefer my Xd. (I have both an XD40 and MP9)

Thanks for the feedback folks and the link as well. I think I might get one of these. Are their any board sponsors selling these guns, and are they located in or do they ship to Ontario?

FWIW, not all of them have the mag safety or internal lock as mine didn't have these 'features'. Look for the MP9 Carry Kit which has the pistol, 3 mags, blade tech holster and a blade tech 2 mag carrier. The MP9's in this kit won't have the mag safety or internal lock. It's a very, very nice pistol....

furious, lots of sponsors are selling the MP9 (check the banners above) and they will ship to Ontario.....
