Hi, what do you think about pistol Smith&Wesson .22cal model 422 ?
It's a good firts pistol?

What is a good price for a 422 in good shape?

Thank
Louis
Scuse, I have some difficult with my Shakespear language...

They suck. Trigger is horrible, and the takedown block is fragile. I wouldn't concider paying more than $100.

If you want a good cheap .22lr pistol, get a used Ruger MK1 or better yet a MKII.

I've had one for about 10-13 years and I love it. I think at the time I paid $399 new or something like that. I have fired Rugers in lots of calibers and I like them all EXCEPT the Ruger 22's. For starters they don't look like a gun and they don't feel like a gun and why most of them have such a huge barrel is beyond me. The weight alone makes it so you don't really feel anything when you pull the trigger and while some may like that, I'd prefer to feel a little something, that's why you're shooting.

I got a S&W 622 w/ 4.5" barrel which is a Alum version of the 422. I like it. Its a bit tricky to take apart, but not hard, you just need a 22 shell and your mag.

I look mine out to the range yesterday and was getting about 2" at 15m, but could be becuase of me. Trigger wasn't bad, felt nice in my hand, the flame from the round shoots out of every orphus and looks super cool.

But you gotta make sure that ALL the screws are tight, Lock Tite them. I had mine out and the screws loosened out and it seperated a bit and well wile shooting it it bent the frame a bit. ALSO dont shoot velcorapters (SP) in them, I nearly blew up my 22LR I only fired about 5rds but I believe that was what cased my gun to seperate and blew off the rear sight.

Overall its not a bad gun, I heard they are problemmatic but I only put 200rds through mine.

Would I buy another one. Maby not.

Mags arn't cheap, cheapest I could find them were 28 USD + taxes and shipping. But Ive seen them go for cheap as 200$ to 300+
