Those are pretty neat. Looks like the concept has been resurrected in the model 69.

I never got to shoot .44 special, was hard ammo to find.

I have five 44 Specials. Nice cartridge. Never found them an issue to feed but I hand load . - dan

i'll have to look for some spl brass for my 29.

Any store that can order Starline brass can get you 44spc brass. Or you can trim down 44mag to 44spc length.

It isn't that difficult to find. You can get loaded rounds quite easily because of cowboy shooting. I was just shooting my 624 snub yesterday, and I love that gun. Bottom is 624 44 spec, middle is 629 44 mag, top is Redhawk 44 mag
