SMLE and No 4 fore end PSI

I've heard that No 4's will often run tighter groups with 10 lbs pressure on the fore end of the stock at the bbl interface.
Are SMLE's similar?

No, not really. The forend of a SMLE is set up quite differently. There is that mid band around it, and the spring loaded plunger in the nosecap. SMLE target rifles often had packing installed around the barrel to dampen vibration.
