SMLE/Enfield Bren Magazine conversion?

Is it possible? I have a few of these laying around and i was wondering if it could be done...

If you used a bren mag it would have to be pinned to 5 rounds so not much point.

I believe the Bren mags are exempt from the 5rnd limit.
But why would you want to do this type of conversion???

Would look pretty wierd to have a Bren mag sticking out from the bottom of a Lee-Enfield rifle!

The Charlton conversion of MLEs used Bren mags - I do not know if the mags were altered as well as the receiver. If you have access to a Bren mag., strip down a LE, and see if you can see any way to get the mag. and receiver to match up. It would not an easy thing to do. Leonidas - The only exempt Bren mags are the drums.

OK, thinking out loud here.

--Bolt actions are NOT subject to the 5 round rule, only SEMI AUTO CENTRE FIRE. (Includes FA and CA prohibs)

--The mag for a Bren in original condition would have to be pinned to 5.

--Now, if the mag was altered to fit a Lee Enfield, AND COULD NO LONGER FIT A BREN, is it a bolter mag, or is it an auto feed mag?

I believe that the Bren mags are required to be pinned to 5 rounds.
Lewis gun mage however, are not....Hmmmmmm?

Now that would be one wierd looking rifle!

IANAL; however, I'd say the altered BERN mag would no longer be a BREN mag. It may cost you several tens of thousands of legal fees to find out, unless we all get our wish on Jan 23.

ive tryed it, takes lots of machine work to make the bren mag in its standard form fit the #4.

Well I guess if the Bren magazine has to be pinned to 5, then there's not much point since the Enfield can legally have a 10-round magazine and the regular magazines can be swapped.
