Thought I'd post a current family photo of my No.1 series Enfields (the SMLEs) since I had them out for cleaning and inspection today.
I've owned many of these over the years, but these ones are the examples I currently have of the No1 series rifle. I didn't include the 2A1 in the photos (technically not a No.1).
The No.1 is my favorite Enfield - not sure why. They definitely feel better in hand to me than the No.4 rifles do, though I do like a nice light No.5.
From top to bottom:
-1937 BSA MkIII
-1942 Lithgow MkIII*
-1916 RSAF Enfield MkIII* (i.e. MkIII Con'D)
-1948 Ishapore MkIII G.F.
-1945 Ishapore MkIII* (converted from MKIII)
-1913 BSA MkIII
-1960 Ishapore MkIII D.P.
And on left, a MkIII cutaway trainer (formerly an LSA MkIII)
Let's see the other SMLE family photos out there
