SMLE Finish Repair

Hi folks,
I need some help with wood finish repair on the SMLE please. I have a 1943 FTR with a large wear mark in the fore-end as you can see. I want to match the finish, I know it uses BLO...but is it just BLO or is there some sort of walnut color stain in there.
Any help would be appreciated.

try a very little blo with black KIWI shoe polish. may need several coats to get it right, but it can be applied to match perfectly and will blend in nicely with the surrounding color. bearhunter

I like Miniwax stain, usually blend walnut and mahogony until I get the right colour and mix with the BLO or Tung Oil.
