Hello all, I recently got a new rear stock to replace one in poor condition that was on my Ishapore 2A. After fitting it to the rifle, I've run into a strange oddity, the stock bolt can only manage to screw into the receiver if the stock bolt washer (2nd variation) is removed. Thus I wonder if the stock bolt washer is an essential piece and ask if anyone has some insight here?

No washer inside of the stock.

Currently I don't have the rear stock screwed in; I attempted screwing it in with, and then without, the spring washer to see what worked. Took out the stock bolt/washer and put them aside.

The Ishapore 2A only uses one washer; I have the spring type washer.

4 and 5/8 inches

Thanks for the help!

If you dont use a washer, the stock will eventually loosen and not sit tight to the receiver. A couple options, one go without, 2 remove material from inside stock or 3 remove material on outside stock that goes into the receiver(less than 1/16th and it should fit.)

Seems that the washer is needed, which answers the main question I had, thanks to all for help. Making it work will be an other story, but I'll figure it out, perhaps get a flat washer and try it.

Is your replacement stock new? Or from an old rifle? When i was refitting my No1 Mk3, the washer was stuck in there good.

New stock.

Put it on a vice and drill press. Or carefully chisel and hammer. Drill press is better though...

Don't have a drill press around, but I'll see if someone I know has access to one if it comes down to that.
