Been looking online to make sence of all the markings.

FTR
I know what it is, was hoping some could shed some light on the markings.

MA LITHGOW is the factory marking for Lithgow Small Arms Factory in New South Wales, Australia. Yours was made in 1942 obviously
D arrow D are proof marks mid 20's to Vietnam War - Australian Defense Department ownership marks
FTR is Factory Thorough Repair - so it has gone back to the factory for a complete overhaul at some point
BA is Bathurst Rifle Factory No 2 Australia. Parts marked BA were made there.

IA ( or is it TA?) CO SAC CA - I'm stumped. Import marks perhaps? Australia .303 possibly also put on when imported

Looks like a nice example of an Australian SMLE No1 MkIII*
