Hi there,
Got a couple SMLE's with markings on them that interest me greatly.
First up is a 1914 SMLE. There are no markings visible on the side facing out, but when i turned the stock disk there were the following markings:
C broad arrow (canadian) as well as what looks like roman numeral 4. Is this 4th division CEF? Wouldnt that be too early for canadian marked enfields? I have no reason to believe the butt was replaced.
The second rifle is either a 1916 or 1918 (hard to tell). It has this interesting marking on the top right next to the top handguard. Hard for me to read, but hopefully someone can recognize it.
Thanks in advance!
