Are those Winchester primers perchance . I got a brick that ruined the bolt face of a rifle so much so that after I cleaned up the erosion on the bolt I had to set the barrel back. If there are old primers you may have stumbled across a bunch and if so I would dispose of them PDQ.

I had some Winchester Lg Rifle Mag primers that did the same. Stopped after the third one and wrote Winchester with lot # and got no reply. No obvious damage to the bolt face.
Lots of bangs from the burn barrel.

People who clean their primer pockets every firing, sometimes get that. Some really hot loads with stretch the primer hole too. It is a loose primer allowing blow back. Check your bolt face with a 10X eye magnifier.

It does look like a loose primer pocket. Failed primers seem to be more random in the burn through.

I got that bad batch of winchester LRP several years ago. Only took 2 rounds to badly put my bolt face. I called winchester gave them my lot number and pictures. They sent me a cheque for the 1000 primers I had of that lot plus the repairs to my rifle. Nice gesture on their part but after learning how widespread their QC issue was and how many rifles they damaged I will never buy another winchester primer again

Looks neat until it starts eroding your bolt face.

That's why I put quotations myself. I recall learning about timing the hard way with an AR-10. Lots of pitting in my bolt face. I thought perhaps it was a similar situation here but I concur that loose primer pocket is the likely culprit.
