Smokin deals on Grand Power 9mm's/.22's and range reports

For those of you who still have a k22s or k22s xtrim I need a favour please.

I was replacing the guide rod on mine and I removed the pin for the magazine catch without thinking. Anyway can someone take a picture from the top down into the grip to show me how the magazine catch looks fully assembled? I'm not sure how the catch spring should be installed and the how the catch itself should be if the wide bit should be at the bottom or the top so a picture looking down into the grip would be great.

Thanks.

Have a look at this video starting at 2:10. He's doing an X-Calibur, but the mag retention catch is exactly the same. I think this fellow happens to be one of the master gunsmiths at Grand Power and he makes it look super easy. Unfortunately, getting the mag retention catch back in was very finicky (at least for me lol). Copy his hand and finger positions and for me I had to use a lot of finger pressure to depress the mag retention catch enough that I could get the pin back in. Oh, and you will need a slave pin to keep the spring and catch together as you position it. Canuck223 had a handy tip to make the slave pin from the shaft of an aluminum pop rivet. I cut one up with a pair of pliers, bit of filing to smooth out the rough edges and it worked perfectly :)

Thanks VanMan you rock I owe you a beer the next time I'm in the lower mainland. I found the assembly video for the k22s but the magazine catch was already installed. I think it was probably the same builder that did both videos the hands looked the same lol. I managed to get away without using a slave pin, i put the pin through one side and then fed a small screwdriver through the other side and put the spring into place first and then i used a lot of finger pressure to hold the magazine catch in place while I pushed the screwdriver through until it met the pin and then I used the pin to push out the screwdriver until it locked into place. I'm pretty sure I mangled the spring during that process but it looks right and the mags still drop free when I push the release and they lock into place when seated.

I'm looking forward to trying out the new guide rod and the new recoil spring, Canuck223 sent me the newer type of guide rod in addition to the recoil spring. The guide rod doesn't have the aluminum sleeve on the end so I'm hoping this helps with my light primer strikes and my slide not closing fully when it cycles. Anyway I don't think I'm going to be touching that magazine catch pin again it's way too finicky to put back in. Thanks again VanMan.
