Snake Charmer .410, Canadian retailer???

Hi gang,

Does anyone know where I can buy a single-shot .410 called the Snake Charmer? I googled it and only get Walmart (US).

The New England Firearms/ H&R Tamer is sufficiently similar, in fact almost identical.

the difference is in the barrel length, OAL and the choke. Tamer is open, if I recall. Snake charmer is full. Does the Tamer have the shell holders in the stock?

There are some differences between the H&R/NEF Tamer and the Verney Carron Snake Charmer II.

The snake charmer II is a bit more expensive, but it is all stainless instead of nickle plated. The snake charmer is also a bit smaller, at 29" OAL.

The Tamer is sold by several dealers in Canada, so it should be relatively available. I haven't seen any Snake Charmer II for sale in Canada. If they are in Canada, they are certainly less common.

Just checked, both guns have full chokes. I've never handled a Tamer, but my Charmer is certainly well built.

The pistol-gripped stock on the Tamer is slightly longer and the storage for 4 extra shells is a little more accessible. It seems to me to be all stainless as well. I believe they would both serve the same role and for the price you can't go too far wrong. And if you can't get the Charmer easily in Canada, the Tamer would certainly do.

Thanks for the info. I might have a lead on a possible Canadian distributor. I`ll know for sure on Monday. The Tamer looks OK but it`s 5" longer than the Snake Charmer II.

Its certainly handy. Fits nicely in my backpack when we go camping and shooting 1/4 ounce slugs is a hoot!
