I've got a Snakeslayer on the way. Looking to load up some rounds. Is this gun limitted to the 14k PSI loads of the old colts? Can it handle the Ruger loads? Somewhere in the middle? The same action, can take barrels and run 10mm or 357 magnum, so it must be a fair sight better than great great grampa's SAA. I presume the brass will likely be the limitting factor especially in this round.
I've got some new Remington Brass, 250gr Hornady XTP's, and have Unique, Universal Clays, Power Pistol, H110 and HS-6 available. I'll buy some lead bullets later, but for now this is it. I'm thinking Unique for mid range, but what would be best for going for the gusto.
If my range allowed shot, I'd probably be getting set up for buckshot as well, but until and unless I want to drive 35 minutes instead of 3, I'm limitted to the 45 rounds.
