Just got some ST Action Pro snap caps, ran them thru my Fabarm Martial Ultrashort about a dozen times. Figured I'd do a review as my first thread.

Here are my findings.

Construction - they feel solid but very light (14 grams), and seem to be very well made & designed for use in pump-action.

Performance - they "performed" just fine, 12-cycles thru the gun with no hiccups.

Durability - while constructed very well, they are not "real" shotshell brass or hulls. Minor damaged occured, but still function flawlessly.

Price & Availablity - At $1.40 each, they're the cheapest on the market. $14 to my door, for 5 rds. Ordered Monday, received them Thursday.

Summary - IMO, these things kick a$$... You can't buy better for less $ (or even at par), and seem to be better than most of their competition (price & durability) while meeting my own criteria (full-size, not plastic or aluminum).

* they show definate signs of use (or "damage"), but I did cycle them a few times very vigoursly. The ejector left the marks on the bottom of the case only, not the rim/lip, from me "slamming" the action back rapidly I believe.

I looked at other snap-caps, but was disappointed at the reviews that Tipton, MTM, & A-zoom were getting with 12ga caps specifically. Berretta makes a heavier chrome-plated pair for $30 but they're 1" tall, and I found some really nice machined brass units (Pro-Shot : 12SEMI-SC) for $17/pair but only in the States (export problem ?).

same thing happens with the A-zoom's through my pump, only they cost at least $4 each

only prob I see is the primers are recessed, so the firing pin wont hit them. might not be good for the pin on some shotguns

I found reviews (typed & video responses) complaining that the A-zoom & MTM got chewed-up after only a few cycles (3-4), and I can't find any locally.

As for the firing pin part, some of them show strike-marks but 2 don't. I plan on slightly modifying them by injecting tiny dabs of hot-glue to each primer area.

I think they're a great product at an unbeatable price.

Thanks guys.

Cool. I plan on grabbing some of these. A bit of glue sounds like a good idea, post some pics of your finished product if you get a chance. thanks for the review.
