Spring snow goose season is nearly upon us in Manitoba and I was wondering if anyone here considers themself a good snow goose caller?

Any good videos or sound bites you're aware of?

This will be my first time hunting snow geese - usually I go after canadas in the fall, but the boys from work want to go out and give spring snow goose a shot. The thing is, no one's ever done it before, so we're hoping to get some calling tips.

Any other strategies y'all might want to share are more than welcome too :)

We've already arranged a field in the flyway and are getting decoys together.

Snow goose hunting can be one frustrating sport, the more decoys the better as in hundreds, here it is legal to use an e-caller for snows that would be the way to go,you can wear a white suit and lay right in the decoys. The tough part is getting them to come back to the same field. But if they do come be prepared for a great shoot.

Although I have never tried I too have heard it can be a very tough hunt. The electronic callers seem to do an outstanding job. If you are shooting with a number of fellows they should each have a call as the more noise you can make the greater attraction for these odd birds. FS

Can you whistle? seriously if you can't ... buy a referee type whistle ... keep blowing it and they'll turn and come right in ... than it's bang bang time brother ... good luck! ;)

p.s. we shoot hundreds of them every spring ... :D

Ever since they started the Spring Snow hunt and I started to pay attention, I honestly can't remember even SEEING a Snow goose in the spring. It seems they just completely fly over the Wpg area in the spring.

I've called Snows with just a regular call, and on one memorable hunt they almost landed on top of me!
