I ordered from Briley a couple North American skeet chokes for my Beretta Silver Pigeon recently and one of them seemed a little too snug when I screwed it in. The chokes are blackened but some of it scraped off when I removed the choke. Even with a bit of choke lube one of them still offers some resistance when I screw it back into the barrel. It's not the threads that seem snug but the outside of the choke. Once set the barrel and choke bore look smooth. These new Briley's don't glide in like the Beretta chokes I have and which I haven't fired yet. Should I have a concern about this ?

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a couple of guns that the extended chokes tend loosen unless I tighten them with a choke wrench.

You may want to try a little BreakFree or other gun lube on the chokes prior to installing them, it might make the installing & removal process easier.

I checked with Briley and they said that as long as the threads engage then there should be no problems. Thanks for expressing your concerns.

I prefer anti seize or never seez as a choke lubricant. It makes them very easy to install, and very easy to remove after a few thousand rounds are fired.
