So CanadaAmmo has a few JW105, are they good ?

I really wanted a JW105 and I see that you guys got them in stock. so YEAH !

One question: have you heard of any issues within this batch ?
I did some research on this model but it seems to be a mixed bag of good and bad

Any feedback from CanadaAmmo and fellow jw105 users are appreciated.

Seems like most are satisfied with them. I've even heard some of them are quite accurate. But like most Norinco product there are always a few duds floating around, which receive ten times the attention duds from other manufacturers get due to it being 'cheap Chinese junk, I told you so'.
I'd still buy one.

It was Winchester factory ammo, but to me it looks like the pin that holds the barrel to the receiver was drilled into the chamber.... Seems like that is where it failed.

Look at the comments below the set of pictures in that thread .. something about a case stuk in the breech from the factory .. whole story not out on that gun, but for some reason poster got rid of it ? So no more story right now .. I imagine I would be doing a few strange and hurried things after so close a call as that was too .. maybe he will get it back and have a second look .. and more info will be provided ...

Main thing he was not injured ..

He was just describing what the chamber looked like....the case was stuck in there after the KB

I just received mine on Monday,. It was in the typical Norc plastic bag covered in heavy oil. Everything looked pretty good until I took the barrel and receiver off to clean. The interior of the stock was the worst I've seen. Very rough and full of splinters. I've started to sand them down, disappointed but fixable. Might try my hand at glass bedding.
I'm gonna take it out to the range on Friday to test her out. Expectations aren't high with the crap load of surplus Norc ammo I've got but handloads might be better.
Here is a pretty good review I watched.

Cool. Where did you get it from?

Canada ammo, of course. They tend to pop up on my browser every other payday or so. :)

Oh and I did know it was a $300 Chinese rifle, but the thing is I couldn't really afford to spend $800 on a cz. I was thinking about a axis or the like, but I just preferred the look of the JW.
Besides now I get the opportunity to glass bed a rifle. Always look on the bright side...

Makes sense

Took mine out today.
Funny but it seemed to like norinco ammo the best, printing 3 inch groups at 75yards offhand with iron sights...best I could do with old eyes. With American Eagle hp 50gr they were all over the place, although it was probably the shooter :)
We'll see how she does benched, bedded and scoped.
Also inspected the brass, she doesn't seem to have any chamber burrs or other problems.
So, if you're so inclined, take a chance and pick one up.
On another note I took my brand new NP58 out as well today...the sucker is a tack driver and the quality is superb, no tool marks whatsoever.
Thanks again Canada Ammo.
