I'm just curious if I have leprosy and wasn't aware of it? In the last 3 weeks, I have responded to 4 different ads in the EE, from people wanting to sell pistols, 'will send pics' on request to interested parties. Well, I was an interested party, had money to spend on a particular pistol, and sent a PM asking for pics, with my email, expressing interest.

Not a single one of those sellers even responded. No pictures, no PMs, nothing. So I bought a pistol from a 5th seller, who appreciated my interest and my cash.

I don't get it though, if you are going to post an ad with no pictures (a bit lazy IMO, but some members are challenged by the process and that is fine too), and offer to email pics to those with 'serious' interest.....than why in the hell wouldn't you send pictures on request? or at least send a PM saying 'pound sand' or something? Of those 4 ads I asked for pictures, 3 are still for sale........maybe they don't check their PMs? I dunno, it baffles me, and annoys me.

Thanks for listening to my rant, this probably doesn't happen to any of you other Nutz who don't have Internet Leprosy.........
 
I personally dont repsond to ads without pics i understand why some people dont but its their trying to sell something to me so im not going to waste my drinking time waiting for pics to be emailed so i can decide if i want it or not.

I have a wide range of tastes.....I was looking for a Colt Python, but as I said, nobody bothered to make an effort, and ended up doing something on a S&W Pro Series 1911 with a friend of mine (who I bought my first pistol from). We have a great layaway plan going!:) At some point, I'd like a Colt though, now the budget is shot for a while again.
 
They should change EE rules. If you post a WTS add, then one of the rules should be that you must post pictures, or at least one, of the item that you want to sell.

I always do it anyway...other CGNers actually see the item for sale, and kinda' appreciate the fact that extra effort was taken into posting the WTS thread...well, that's what I think, anyway...
 
Lack of pics in an ad is one issue but the other is how many 'sellers' can't even be bothered to answer a PM. That is simply RUDE!

When I post an ad I try to answer every single PM whether the item is sold or not. It is simple courtesy to respond to all interested parties.

Seems a lot of our current crop of new CGN sellers lack a little in the social skills department :(

You are not alone in this situation. Some of these EE posters do not have the common decency to reply to an inquiry or an offer, like to do so is beneath their dignity. If an EE poster ignores my PM, I just take note and never bother to deal with or PM them again.

OTOH, we cannot go down to their level, so I always give everyone who responds to my ads the common courtesy of a quick reply.
 
Older posts? Maybe they already sold the gun and forgot to update it or didn't and forgot and weren't visiting the forums b/c it wasn't on their mind?

I usually find ppl on the EE to be good. Sorry you had bad luck.

Seems a lot of times people forget to add the 'Pls Remove' to their ad after they sell it. I kind of hate sending a PM to someone only to have them say "Oh I sold that two weeks ago" Some can't even be bothered to change it to 'SOLD' or "SPF'.

I'm usually the opposite because I really don't want to be anwering PM's on something I don't have anymore.
