I had put a CZ 455 Standard in .22 wmr up for sale in the Marketplace, and over on the EE elsewhere.............

I had it out today along with the CZ 513 Farmer in .22lr, and they both shoot better than I can, and I pride myself with being a pretty good shot.
I had no intentions of selling the Farmer, but since I got it in .22lr, I was having second thoughts about the costs of the .22 magnum ammo for the 455. My first range trip with it, was a disaster with terrible weather, and only some cheap winchester ammo, and I was unimpressed so I decided to put it up for sale despite only owning it a short time.
Anyways, long story short, I am going to delete those ad's, and after todays range trip I am in love with this gun!
The answer...... CCI Maxi Mag 40 gr HP's.
Today was far from ideal conditions, Raining/Snowing, and probably 15 km/hr winds.
The scope I have on this gun is a huge hinderance as it is a 4x's with a Circle X reticle with rather thick crosshairs. They cover about an inch at 50m, and almost 2 inches at 100m, so I was really impressed with these groups. I found holding the crosshairs under the target circle was the best way for repeatable aiming.
50m(keep in mind those squares are slightly smaller than an inch)
And then we moved on to 100m, and damn that scope has to go. I only shot 4 groups at this distance as I figured I was just wasting ammo with this scope set up, but I was curious to see how it would do. Let's just say I was impressed.
Best group of the 4(the others were between 1.25 and 1.5 inches)
I am pretty happy this guy didn't sell, and once i put some proper glass on her we will have some fun for sure. I ran out and bought out all the surrounding Canadian Tires supply of the CCI Maxi Mags, so I have about 550 rounds to play with.
I also gotta say this is one hell of a nice gun. The quality in these CZ's is outstanding, and I love both of these guns. They are the lower end of the spectrum as far as their rimfire models go, but they are still absolutely amazing as far as fit and finish goes.
Oh, the CZ 513 Farmer shoots amazing as well, and even with irons I was shooting 1/2 inch groups at 25m. The trigger is very strange on the 513, but with some tinkering I am sure it will improve, and those groups will shrink. I have been away from irons for awhile, but having this and my new SKS I have lots of practicing to do.
