Tried bears on three occasions and it was not pleasant.Not sure a coyote would stoop to eating one.These were wilderness bears not dump diners.I've kept hams and backstraps for others but none for me thanx.Same goes for wild boar .Rank and stunk like a dirty dog...............................Harold

damn it's been quite a few years since I dined on bear. A big roast , with garlic cloves stuck into it , done over a bbq , with a gravy made from drippings .superb......

been years since I ate bear but i miss it. It is good meat...love a good bear stew w/dumplings.
I shot a bear once, and The Wife(tm) and I spent the next winter eating him. It wasn't particularly bad or anything, but given the choice of bear meat or venison, I'll take the venison EVERY TIME! That was the last bear I shot. I'd shoot one again, if I saw one and had a tag in my pocket, but I wasn't impressed enough with the eating to go chase one down on purpose.

We prefer black bear to both venison and moose in this house There is always all three in the freezer, but the bear always goes first
I've actually eaten bear steaks med. rare (island bears....no garbage for 100 miles) and it rivals angus beef in both flavour and texture.
