So I found a bunch of 14" 590a1 in the states.

They're model 51683 590a1 with pistol grip.

The company in question is an importer and exporter, what are the actual rules regarding importing this?

From looking around it seems that this will meet the 26.5" and I shouldn't have further restrictions aside from the US paperwork. The American paperwork this company says they will handle.

Advice on best course of action? Should I still go through an importer? Do I have to?

Have you contacted Irunguns? I would, simply to save possible headaches. BTW, do you happen to know if these barrels will fit without 'mods just as you would with an 870 receiver and 14" barrel?

The Mossberg 51683 is a NFA firearm in the US, you should ask your exporter if did export these kind of firearm out of the US before ?

Why don't they handle the paperwork on the Canadian side also?
.

They are researching how to do the Canadian paper work at the moment. The company is in the states so they aren't familiar with our rules.

They say they have exported class 3 before.

From my research you need to change the mag tube.

Because up until Irunguns announced they now are able to bring in SBRs/SBS/AOW type long arms, pretty much the only people our side of the border seeing that kind of gear would be LEO or Mil organisations, not individuals.

That's a good question I'll ask. What difference does it make as far as we are concerned?

Well i hope i'm wrong on that but i think it's easier to get the export permit if it's for a LE agency.

I know which company youre talking about, theyre big in the LE trade.

How many? The ones with the pistol grip are a $5 Tax Stamp. From what I've been reading, it's the US paperwork that is the problem, unless that's been blown out of proportion. If these come here, they'll sell out fast. I PM'd Irunguns on the importation of these 14" Mossy's and haven't heard anything back yet.

If it's for export you don't pay the tax stamp wether it's a AOW or a SBS.

Tax stamp is only for a US citizen.

I was suspecting this. And I gather that is also as hard to come by?
I couldn't tell you to be honest I've only been on the hunt for a complete gun. But, modifying the mag tube isn't restricted for us so... Chop it up?

Yeah I've seen the recent buzz about these again. I understand these are $5 tax stamp but we don't deal with that as non residents. I asked him if there was a group of us could he fulfill and he said he's got several. I didn't really want to get anyone's hopes up until I got some of the details hammered out and the leg work done.

I think I may well have to go through irunguns. Alright apparently way back in the day the US government required paperwork for importing of firearms from country receiving the firearms so to meet this requirement the Canadian government came up with some paperwork just to give to US for their paperwork now the US offered us an exemption because we are homies and Canada is cool but because liberals were in power at the time they turn down the exemption which is where our whatever $100 Brownell's limit comes from so really there's paperwork just to satisfy the requirement for paperwork and doesn't exist for any other reason. It's enough to make a bureaucrat wet with excitement.

You would have to source one from another class 3 dealer, the gun will then be transfer to Irunguns with what they call a form 3 (dealer to dealer transfer) this take about a month to get approved.
Contact Irunguns before doing it, you will need a copy of their FFL and their SOT license.
Please note that the gun need to be paid in full before the dealer start transfer, also the dealer will not give you any invoice or bill of sale as they cannot sell you a gun if youre not a US citizen ( but of course they will accept your money ! ), also note that most of the time they want cash or wire money transfer, lots of class 3 dealers do not take credit card for title 2 firearms.

To clarify - IRG is a Class 3 dealer in the US. The tax stamp is $5 per gun. IRG has a blanket US Export Cert which covers up to 50 BMG. Dealer to Dealer Class 3 transfers are taking longer than usual, certainly longer than 30 days. Easy peasy way to do this is to have the dealer transfer the guns to IRG in the US, then they can bring them over the border to our greedy little hands. (Info about IRG from their post regarding these items)

Oh yes, and I want one too.
