So just recently (two weeks) I received my license, and not this weekend but the weekend just past I went up to Ellwood Epps (fantastic place and awesome service) and my buddy bought a Lee Enfield No1 Mk3 and a 10/22 with a bushnell 1-4x scope, and I got a Tasco 3-9x scope (and hearing protection and eye protection, the whole rimfire kit thing) and put it on my ruger I had gotten from Target Sports a little while back (my other buddy's been holding it for me).

Anyways, I dont have pictures of my friends (he's on here and will probably post his own, D_w_A is his handle) but here's my baby:

I'll get more ( and better) pics up later tonight or tomorrow.

congrats on your first..good choice too..BUT..you do know that your using .22 scope rings on a weaver base right? the scope will loosen up with recoil and slide off ..you will need to get 1" weaver style rings to make sure the scope stays on good an tight. ( i made the same mistake with my first ruger 10/22 and scope lol)

Don't sell it. Ever.

At some point down the road, you will probably be tempted to sell it off to buy a bigger, more accurate, and/or ###ier gun, but for the couple of hundred dollars you'll get for it you are (IMHO) far better off keeping that sucker until you croak. I know from first hand experience that you can't replace the nostalgia of your first rifle even if you buy one identical to it later. Besides .22LR will always be the cheapest ammo out there so everybody should have at least one .22 in the closet.

yeap. wrong rings for that base ;) you need weaver style rings for that weaver style base.

a note for when you replace them. you want them short enough so the lens of the scope is almost touching the barrel (high enough to still clear that rear sight though, I'd leave it on). the correct rings will sit alot lower on the base though, so the ring height there might not be too far off.

but congrats on the gun. 10/22 was my first as well. and still have it.

Congrats on the first purchase. But....junk the tasco and get something better. You'll soon get discouraged when you can't get consistant results. I put a "brand new" tasco 6-24x40 on my 10/22 and could only get 3"-4" groups at 50 yrds. Swapped it out for a (at least) 20 yr old Ruko 3-9x32 and got 1" to 1 1/2" rgoups immediately at the same distance.

My 10/22 has not got my 100% confidence yet as I've had trouble with it since new. But then I sprayed the bolt and inside the receiver with "dry" spray teflon lube and let my daughter use it. Well....she was getting 80 yrd kills on gophers with it. And with only 2 misfires in maybe 300 rnds.
(Better than I ever got )

An excelent choice for a first gun.

What type of 30-rounder is that I spy...? ;)

Enjoy, and congrats on getting your license..and your first rimfire. :)

Looks like a Butler Creek 25 round mag.

I've got a bunch of those, they're great, never had a problem with any of them.

Congrats I bought a S\S 10\22 asmy first gun. Sold it to a well known member, the prick is too cool to answer a simple PM asking what ever became of it. Hold on to it tight....

Butler Creek 25 round mag, the front ring on the scope is loose (the screws won't tighten, think they're stripped ) so I was planning on getting new ones anyways. I have a Tasco Red Dot also but figured I'd give the scope a chance. I'll see how it shoots this weekend.
