Got this on layaway at the Gun Dealer. They originally had it as a K31 but changed it to K11 converted to 30-30. The lack of front sight ears, rear sight ears and straight stock says infantry rifle but what model. I have no access to the rifle as yet. It seems to be refinished forward of the rear sight. Is this a Bubba carbine?

Looks like a chopped 1889? The 30-30 conversion is just a chamber sleeve sometimes prone to falling out.The magazines to work with the 30-30 are hard to find.

Rear sight ears are the main clue.

They did a decent job by the look of it. It appears that the wood is lighter towards the front and has been sanded and formed to fit the bands. Barrel shortened and front sight moved up.

Agreed! If the magazine functioned properly then it would be a really fun little 30-30. Price depending that is.

I keep looking at that, thinking it would probably be light and handy, and I love the Swiss straight-pull action... I mean, yes, it's a Bubba special, but... If it cycled well, and was half decent accurate with 30-30, that might put a lot of stew in the pot.

Wouldn't pay more than $200 for it, though. Preferably $100.
