I did a little project today with help from one of our Tool Makers at work, anyways, I had bought a pair of old Parker Hale scope bases for the Lee-Enfield, but they use a single dovetail that is not standard to any but their own.

I couldn't find rings, so I made a matched set:

I think I'll send them out for Hard Type III Anodizing however. They look a little plain as they are right now. :)

What you think? :D

Very nice, how do they fit the scope, nice and snug?

Like a Glove, the bore is only .002" over sized from nominal (so 1.002")

One thing I forgot is that since we all know how annoying it is to have a scope ring get lose from the mount I machined a counter bore on the clamping side to accept a #8 lock washer about .005" shallow giving the lock washer the final clamp down so it doesn't vibrate lose.

I'd consider it but I'm moving this weekend, so I don't know when I'll be able to make anything else for a while (hence why I got them done today).

If I get access to a milling machine anytime soon I'll keep you in mind. :)

Dimitri, who knew you were useful? I though you only travelled the world and took pics of yourself with strange women! Nice design and work there. :)

skoalbandit,

I didn't know what pictures you were talking about as I refuse to take pictures with girls as I need deniablity but I found your comment funny anyways.

TAC,

Well based on the machines capabilities of the one I want. I figure no more then about 75$ per set depending on the costs of anodizing a large batch of these at a time however.

If that is "realistic" or not, I'm not too sure. :)

Not unless someone on the board is rich and is willing to finance this, otherwise I think it will be a while before I can actually sell anything.

But the first option is good too. I'd be willing to pay off my debt money wise and material compensation wise, such as receiving serial number "0002" of the C-140 rifle I've been designing off and on.
