Today I had the opportunity to buy an arisaka. I could have gone into debt, but decided against it. Not knowing anything about them, I'm wondering what I've done.

Details:

Type 99
Matching, mum intact, bluing g overall, little to no rust.
Apparently shoots a little to the left.
Bore ok-good.
Wood dinged but not bad.
Bayo with new wood on handle and slightly rough scabbard, only part that had actual signs of rust
60 rds of Japanese WWII ammo...

What would something like this be worth, approximately? I have a feeling "I done a stupid thing"...

$350

I guess I can't complain though... I don't know what I'd do with it if I had it anyways :p

It's one thing to say I could reload for it, but another when I've got 5 guns backed up, complete with dies and brass that're still waiting to be fired...

the japs had two calibers, 6.5 and 7.7, they also had rimmed and non rimmed rounds for both rifles, got figure their supply system

crome lined bores as well. did it have monopod, cleaning rod, aa sights, sling? frog for the refinished bayo? what arsenal or series do you know?

I owned two of them years ago. All were 6.5 mm, all were very well built and had a very nice finish. Sort of the toyota of milsurp. Regretably I sold them at a local auction to make room in my gun safe.
