Went to lever to buy an sks today... One of the employees was grabbing a rifle from the selection of sks rifles they had to ship to an online buyer, he grabbed the only black bolt, completely painted, and with black bayonet rifle there was. Out of all the ones on the rack.. even the rear leaf sight was a parkerized one. There were some nice ones too. This had nothing to do with me but I felt my stomach churn for whomever was going to get that rifle in the mail! The whole rifle was bubbad from the refurb.

First firearm I ever bought was an SKS from Lever. Asked them to pick me a nice one as it was my first gun and received a è54 Izzy. Ièm happy.

i also got a mail order sks from them a few years back that i wasent happy with i asked if they would send me a nice oneand what i got was anything but nice it hade two stock repairs and some of the screws had the heads tore up not a rifle that i would have picked.i remember it cost me 275 at the time the are considerable cheaper now

Methinks charging someone $20 for hand picking is such a cheesy scam...also it sets up possible expectation issues.

Not a huge fan of lever arms. Been in there a couple times and the staff was not helpful and somewhat rude. Not a terrible experience but I won't be going back.

I had the exact opposite experience to you - been there twice and had good service the first time and outstanding service the second time. Their selection on handguns is not the best, but their SKS price is the best I have seen anywhere.

Could have just been 2 off days but I'd rather go to other stores.

I had a marginal experience at Lever. One guy was nice, other seemed too busy to help.
I hand picked my own '53 Tula SKS with laminated stock and nice bits.
Only laminated one there at the time and by far the nicest cosmetically.
Gun is a sweetheart to handle and shoot, surprisingly accurate.

Heretic!!!!

The word your looking for is instigator, or universal antagonist.

OP: I see where you are going with this, they use internet purchases to clear the ugly ducklings. Typical. I don't know how long it will take for people to figure out the hidden cost of internet sales: customer/business relationships, and service.

I called to ask if they had a 10/22 in stock before I drove down to buy it they told me you would just have to goto the store to find out.

I've never set foot in that store to this day it's been 5 years since that 1 phone call. The guy was very rude about it. I just wanted a yes or a no because I would of been ok I'll drive down there if not no point.

Any other shop I call they would tell me yes or no and i would drive down and buy it simple.. I bought it from reliable instead because of it.

I've been there a few times. Very negative atmosphere overall. I'd much rather go elsewhere when in Vancouver. Reliable, Wanstalls, and Italian are much preferred.

Its an SKS. They're **** at the best of times, what more do you people want??

TDC

I think we all dream of an sks that shoots 1 inch groups when ordering/ buying... accuracy has a special place in the gun vaults.
After the first case of milsurp ammo, you realise you should have bought a more usable rifle instead.. not to say they dont have their place, they are a nicely made piece of work, its just not kept in that special safe.
