Will people in sane provinces like Alberta still be able to purchase handguns?

Or will they simply be able to keep the ones they have? I can't imagine that the CFC would allow new transactions to go through, and I doubt a retailer would ever ship without an ATT.

Hence, you have a really wicked grandfathering type situation where used handguns can't be passed down because the CFC will refuse to complete the transaction.

God I hope the Cons get in, I'm about 1 month away from being able to order a sweet little SA XD9.

IF the Lieberals manage to sneak in, and IF a ban goes through, none of us will be able to legally keep our handguns. A province "opting out" merely means that the feds will foot the resources for the Great Grab. One part of the country cannot be exempted from a criminal code of Kanada law, while others are not.

Property rights is a good thing. Why shouldn't you be able to own your property you have paid for or been given?

Amen!

Dunno why the CPC is not playing up this - they say it's something they'll get around to. I think its pretty damned important.
(And not just because of the conversation during the 2nd debate...)

Harper: "I'd like to add property rights to the Charter"

Dictator: (aka Martin) "But then I could not ban handguns!"

:D
