Long story short. Im in quarantine for another 10 days. I brought my reloading gear with me. I forgot my 3006 dies. I have a few hundred 3006 prepped and primed cases that I would like to load. Has anyone ever used their 308 winchester dies to seat their bullets?

If its within the adjustment of the 308 die, nock yourself out!!

Should work. Your die would have to be backed out. Shouldn’t be any issues.

I would be inclined to seat the bullets without a crimp. Most of my rifle reloads are not crimped anyway.

My 3006 dies are in edmonton and im on pei. I have 10 days left of self isolation before I can go in the world here. I might have a set of 3006 dies at my exes place but I doubt she could find them.

What's it worth to you to buy some dies locally over the phone or online, and pay for delivery if some kind hearted soul where you purchased them won't drop them on your contaminated doorstep, Typhoid Mary?

As everybody has mentioned, a backed out .308 seater die will work.

As an example, I use the 308 seater die for my 30-06 Ackley. Works just fine. Just set the die until you feel resistance at the shoulder, then back of a bit. You may find that there is not much support on the case, so may get some runout popping up if not being careful. My 2c...

Depends how far the die can be backed out. Otherwise I don’t see a problem.
