I wish I could be back home. I am in Scotland for 2 years. My mom keeps calling me about all the animals showing up around our house.
I am from Kingston Ontario and my parents have a house and a bit of land where I hunt deer. It is an archery only area and their property backs on to a field and then there are subdivisions surrounding the area. It is overrun with deer. There are too many deer for the area and not enough hunters.
Last night she told me of a big buck in the back yard that was with a doe. There have been sightings of several very large bucks in the area. My sister got home from work once at night and was grunted at by a large buck. It is so hard to be stuck here, I want to hunt so bad, I can't stop thinking about it and last night I had a dream where I was field dressing my deer. It was very detailed too.
It isn't my favourite place to hunt because the subdivisions are so close, there are a lot of trespassers. There are so many deer though that I feel good about taking them. There have been a lot causing car accidents.
My mom also told me about there being a coyote problem. There are so many and they don't seem to be afraid of people. My mom was out for a walk when she noticed that there were 2 coyotes following her. She wasn't on our property, she was walking on a paved path near the subdivisions by the field. The coyotes were not afraid of her, she went straight home. There have been many other coyotes seen walking up the middle of the road that just go into the bushes and watch people walking or jogging by. I hope that the subdivision people aren't feeding them.
