All I see is threads of guys LOVING their Girsan Yavuz... Can't believe there are no haters. Are they REALLY all that and a bag of chips? I may need to get my hands on one to check it out...

Any Girsan owners care to comment? Any detractors?!

Well if you like the Beretta design, these are well made copies....the usual gripes about the Beretta 92 still apply...save for there are no plastic parts on the Girsan.

i bought one 2 weeks ago. Couldn't be happier. Well made. Looks great. 2/3 the price of a beretta and better grips. LOVE MINE

I sold mine, since it wasn't for me, but it was very well made.

I'm just not a Beretta guy, it seems

The only beef I have with my Girsan are entirely the fault of Beretta. :p Design choices. My first pistol was supposed to be a SA 1911 or a Hi Power. I ended up getting the Girsan instead because the day I went to buy my gun, they had all been sold (locally) and "I wanted a gun that day dammit." So I bought the Girsan used for a good price after sitting on the idea overnight. I'm glad I did. It's helped me learn my trigger control better than any SA pistol probably could out of the box. No slide rattle at all, and girsan milled finger grooves out of the grip, which Beretta doesn't do. It feels solid, shoots well, and I have no worries that it will fail. It's given me the opportunity to fall in love with the M9 platform, which is something I didn't think I'd ever care for.

Anxiously awaiting for some importers to bring in the 1911, as I think i'll get it over some of the alternatives. Minus the grips and the sights.. I'd say its set up just the way I want.

Mine runs like a top. Fit is tight, finish is FLAWLESS inside and out. I've got about 1500 rounds through mine, and the only time it caused me issue was with my first reloads: they were a hair too long, slide wouldn't go fully into battery. Entirely my own fault. I am very impressed with my full size Girsan Yavuz Regard.

I have the full size stainless model, it is probably the best $500-$600 gun you can buy IMO. Mine has at least 2000 rounds threw it and not one malfunction. My only complaint is the trigger isn't great ,other than that it's pretty awesome. I'd go to war with it.

I own a Girsan also. Amazing gun for the price. Trigger is ok. Change to a D spring and it will feel pretty nice. I have had 0 misfires in 500 rounds. no issues at all. Also for finish, the gsg 1911 black blueing works great for touchups around the magwell. Overall. ... Get the gun :)

great pistol! seriously. I had both in my hands, multiple times, and I chose the Turk over the Italian. I can afford the Beretta, that's not the problem. The Girsan was just a nicer pistol and it fit my hands better.

Its been ROCK solid. Never, not one, problem, in any way.

And, also compared to the actual Beretta, it has a steel guide rod and metal trigger, not plastic ones.

I didn't care for the factory plastic grips, but they are not bad, just not my taste visually. I put nice wood Beretta ones on it, and with Beretta grip screws.

I also put a model D hammer spring in it.

Its big, great looking, solid, very smooth, very reliable and quite accurate. Plus, its cheap too, so you can buy lots of ammo with the difference in price.

Just repeating many of the sentiments here -

FWIW, and in my opinion, the Yavuz 16 is an excellent value. I've always liked the look of the Italian 92, and owning one was high on my list. The Girsan did not disappoint.

I've read it's a 'licensed' copy of the Beretta, but really, I'm at a loss of what that means exactly. It's been a great shooter at a very attractive price. Also quite font of the finger serrations on the grip.

Would be interested in this particular Girsan as well (talking to you, CGN dealers):

Only issue with mine is that it will not shoot lead bullets at all. Seriously leads up in 10 shots or less. I believe the Girsans have Polygonal rifling like a Glock.
Shoots my jacketed loads really well. I find the trigger compared to my 2 CZ's (which I love) to be better.
Very impressive gun, would buy another Grisan for sure

Strange that you have leading issues...

I have both a black and a bright version and they both get fed my cast 124gr RN exclusively. I have never had a leading problem.

My dad's CZ leads badly with the same bullet and power. We found casting 358's and resizing down to 357 works great for him.

Perhaps your bore is just on the high end of the tolerance like his?
