...sort of. Without warning the flat bar that pushes the sear forward on trigger depression broke!? It left me with floppy d1ck trigger syndrome, and in need of a trigger assembly.

Question is, has this happened to anyone here before? Is the fix a Russian, Yugo trigger group (better quality parts) or strip the ChiCom apart and try to make a new one?

Opine away me boys,

Plinker

I'd just look for a new trigger bar. A WTB ad will turn up things you thought nobody would have and for small parts I find most replies are very nicely priced. I've had a few deals where I paid more than asking price just because I know what it costs to ship all kinds of stuff around Canada and knew the seller was either taking a loss or giving me parts for the cost of shipping. I don't have one myself but post an ad if you don't get pm's from this thread alone.

Have you looked at Chinese SKS prices lately?

Yeah but everyone thinks "THEIRS" is a factory 26 and therefore charges double. I have had 2 "factory 26" chinese sks's and neither shot any better than my regular old Russian sks. Therefore, my comment of $200 (which is all they are worth, no matter who makes them) PLUS , lots of people are not that savvy and have no idea they can charge double for their chinese sks. I still see lots of them go for 200-250.

actually, they're probably worth around $800 if you built them from scratch today. Milling prices, and steel and hardwood etc. They just happen to sell in our market for around $250 to $300.

And, I didn't think anything could kill the sks....I am shocked! :sok2

I agree with sgt.rock. I caught the same sks fever thinking my next one would be an unissued gem worth 1000s. I think part of that was spending too much time on the sks boards where you read a lot of postings of purchases where the price is way more than the same carbine would command here. Now, I have two safe queens, a nice one plugged into an archangel and a parts gun for making a stock and or fixing another.

Don't blame the rifle for people's uneducated pipe dreams. Blame the dreamer.
Then the dreamer realizes his disillusion and gets angry at the entire platform? Wtf?
...and what the heck is a Archangel safe queen anyways? Lol! What a ridiculous concept!

Oh yeah......................... that'll learn ya.................buying one of Norinco's very first guns..................and thinking it was quality......................... Just kidding
Chicom sks= early Norinco

Im guessing its been bubbad already and its proper function was hindered. Trigger bars dont just break unless its forced against something that will not move.
