What should I do to it when it arrives - what do I need to check/fix/lube, what accessories are worth the money, and what suggestions have you got for feeding it.

I wanted a shotgun to do 3 gun type comps with, but now I'm living more rural there's the potential for hunting (?) with it too.

But I've not owned a shotgun before, so I'm a complete novice. I watched the Thunder Ranch video with Clint Smith and it seems like a shot caddy would be a useful addition at least.

Suggestions, links or videos appreciated!

I can't speak to that exact shotgun, but a means of carrying extra rounds on the gun is a good idea, as is a sling.

I am a big fan of the HSGI velcro shotgun cards, and the Ferro concepts slingster for those parts

Is there much variance in the velcro on cards (name brand like HSGI matter or not?) Seems like it should just be some elastic stitched onto a piece of velcro?

The stitching is what matters. cheap cards fall apart, and may have flimsier elastic. I like S&Js cards (good quality but affordable), Esstac have that nice cord loop which is a bit easier to grab than the flat loop, HSGI are quality comparable to Esstac.

Big fan of velcro shot cards. SJ ones have worked well for me, have one that's probably close to 10 years old, forgot about it and was left with shells in it for several of those years. Still holds shells just fine. For the small price difference I don't know why anyone would bother with the no name ones. Heard really good things about the Esstac ones as well.

I had problems with the hammer out of the box on mine. Required some small filing and polishing to fix, and now cycles everything from 3" slugs and turkey loads to the cheapest and lightest 2 5/8" target loads. (Waranty repair is quick from what I've heard)

Honestly, prefer to use it for hunting over my pump action shotguns. The gas system really works well for mitigating recoil, and I find the ergonomics of the operator fit me more comfortably.

I threw a cheap velcro side saddle on it, and it has held up through over 2000 rounds.

Wht did you do to the hammer to fix it?

I have an M4 clone, and for the life of me, I can't get the thing to cycle anything but the heaviest buck shot loads.

I suppose to be fair, it is -30 celcius where I'm at right now...

Bumping this with a Q - why are the handguards so fat? Why aren't I c clamping this shotgun like my AR when I'm gripping it? Even the aftermarket rails look like they mimic the OEM contours.
