I pulled the butt plate off my M-14 stock and had put all the part's in a plastic baggie, you know so I wouldn't loose them.
The girlfriend decide's to clean up. I go looking and no bag. "What bag she say's".
So I need both the screw's for the buttplate as well as the rear swivel.
And I wanted to take it shooting this weekend.

You are not alone, a few years ago my wife threw out a brand new ATI butt stock that I bought for a shotgun i had at the time.....And I quote" I threw out that weird looking chunk of plastic that was in the rec room last night. I wish the kids would stop leaving their stuff laying around"....lol, I had repainted the ATI stock back to black and left it out to dry over night. I went to bed early, and mentioned that the stock was to be left alone, and I would deal with it in the morning.

i bought one of those organiser tower plastic bin things all bits in there wife no touch
everything has a place and a place is where everything goes
and of course a good rule honey if you dont know what it is ..ask
easy peasy

Why did you take them off? Lol

And yeah... I'm not gonna tell you what to do in terms of the GF... but they only get worse haha

My PRESENT wife pulled that same stunt once and couldn't see the error of her ways. It's a sign of more to come if you don't nip this bud right away. My wife's father was hen pecked by a house full of women that are all control freaks. His life was hell oft times.

The first and only time my wife picked up my stuff to trash was the last time it happened. I made sure she knew that was completely unacceptable and reinforced the message by trashing the first article she left out. She freaked. It was nothing important or valuable but she still freaked. WHY? Because it belonged to her and it wasn't up to me or anyone else to make a decision on whether it was trash or valuable. She got the message loud and clear when the table was turned.

Your call. The fact that she is under the impression that she can just dispose of your things whenever she finds it convenient is a dark sign of things to come. One way or another this will come to more of the same down the road unless you grow a pair and put an end to it before it goes to far.

I agree with Bear hunter throw away something important of hers..... leave a note in the location you found it. Given/thrown away to show you how it feels to have something of "yours" tossed with no regard.

I firmly believe some women do this on purpose. Most know full well most items location/purpose in the house, s9metimes they throw out your stuff as a subtle message or to create an incident. Make it simple and fast so they understand if they are still unreasonable I am sorry for your situation.

I have my own gun room. GF cant clean it but she can put stuff in it that I leave laying around. Once every 6 months I clean it. She closes the door and pretends their is nothing there

Ex wife threw stuff away not because she was cleaning, but out of spite while she was "cleaning". she never cleaned anything.
new wife cleaned my shop once. i was away for two weeks. everything was in its place, and the stuff she considered garbage she separated into different cardboard boxes and bins by like items. even the sawdust.. so that i could decide if it was garbage or not. i`m keeping her. and she stays out of the gun room.
i built her a craft room, and its full of her junk now. she stays out of the shop too

I have sort of the same situation. She started to clean the garage once while I was away, that ended up poorly.

now she has her garden shed, I have the garage. She has her craft room, I have a room in the basement for my stuff, she can put anything she wants into the room, and I can throw out anything that is in the room if I choose to.

defined spaces, and safe zones.

A wise and sensible agreement for all.:)
