What happened here is I cut part of the trigger guard off so that I can get my finger on the mag release. It works great and its bubba approved! :shotgun: .

I'm still working on an ambi design but boredom got the best of me.

FYI this is really only beneficial for us lefties.

Cool:D

I tried another route. I bought a Uncle Mike's hammer extension, medium sized, and it slips right on to the mag release.

It makes for fast reloads but it's not to 'tactical'. I can see it getting caught on webbing etc.

Still it works.

Nice job with the dremel though.

I've never seen one up here, but this actually leaves material that does protect the mab catch.

Actually, I was playing with it and it does make right handed mag changes easier. I realize very few if any people will do this but it does work rather well.

Good idea! One wonders why it wasn't done on issue weapons.

How about some details on how you have the scope rail mounted? I have a POSP and rail want to do mine like that.

Probably because they didn't want the mag release to get caught on clothing, trees whatever and drop the mag. Mine isn't issue so I don't care.

No, what you see is a failed early version of something you should see completed by the new year. It has all the failings I have previously listed in other threads. I would wait and see what the final version looks like.

I suppose that would work well for lefties. The off-hand can be bringing up the new mag while the other is working the mag release.

Limited usefulness for a righty.

I find it more aesthetically appealing to simply replace trigger guard with the older style that doesn't have mag catch protector.

The old style doesn't have the protector?
I thought the new style didn't have the protector.

All old pics I see have the protector whereas only the most current rifles seem to come without the protector.

I tried this right handed and noticed 2 things:

1. Traditional mag changes are much easier. There is no hunting for the release and its very easy to get your hand on.

2. Although not ideal you can knock the magazine out with the other mag. In other words, you can hit the release and follow through with knocking the mag out with a new mag in your left hand.
