So what do you use your pistol case for??

Ok, so when I bought my Glock 17 a while back it came with a very pretty case (among other things:rolleyes: ). However, the damn thing doesn't have a way to lock it! What good is that I thought?? So down to the gun shop I went to pick up a proper case. I've been using my fancy 'Glock' case to store a few of my knives sometimes I use it to transport my mags to the range. Kind of seems a waste to me that's all...

That's my rant for the day...

I tuck my pistol(s) in with the rifle so the cases go unused. I suppose I just keep them around for when/if I sell the gun. Oh also they come in handy if I just wanna take the pistol to the range on my motorcycle. Easy to stuff the case in a backpack.

i'm thinking of drilling a well placed hole through my case to lock it up:cheers:
Bingo! :p I've done that with a Ruger case that I don't know why it didn't have a hole in the first place as it had an ideal spot.

Most of the time I use a larger case (tool box) to hold multiple guns and accessories.

My new S&W M&P came in a pretty good case that can be locked but I will still likely just use the tool box for it.

have you had any experience firing any glocks in the same caliber as your S&W M&P? if so , did you find any major differences IYHO? those M&Ps sure do look slick

What I do with my handgun cases is store all the original papers, factory lock, manual etc. in them and put them away in case I ever sell the firearm. That way they add to the overall value of the gun. Most aren't really good for anything practical but are appreciated by the next owner for provenance etc. I keep mine in pistol rugs and put the ones I'm taking to the range in my range bag for transport.

I have a bunch of cases in a closet as well...couple of them still have trigger locks unopened :)

you should be able to put a pad lock over the handle, that's what I do with the $5 handgun case from Wal-Mart. The holes for the lock on that case are useless. I was able to remove a handgun from the locked case...yeah it's secure alright. So I just slap a padlockon the handle and it works well. I'm sure you can get a padlock that fits the carry handle of any case.

if i could find a padlock to cover the glock case that might save drilling into it... +1

EDIT: glock case handle

Are you really worried about drilling into the case? What's the big deal? Not like the guy you sell your gun to is going to complain unless you REALLY muck it up.

As for the S&W vs. Glock... nope haven't fired either! :onCrack: Hope to fire the M&P this weekend though. The S&W is SOOOO much better looking though. :runaway:

Taking up room....

I just bought a 3 pack of those padlocks with the long adjustable shackles on them, all keyed the same. I use those around the handle.
