I was wondering besides the Sten Mk2 based on the SAS3 Sten, what are the semiauto "machineguns" that have been assigned a FRT No in Canada?

If I'm not mistaking, a M1919A4 semiauto-only was accepted. Anyother? MG42? Bren? PPSh41?

There is one.

One of the dealers up top had the prototype built, but it was too expensive for series production.

Near as I can tell, the only use they make of it is as a marketing picture.

NS

Is it related to the ones Marstar were supposedly going to carry in the "near" (probably very distant) future? I remember hearing rumors of them trying to get semi auto 42's...

Marstar's Zastava Serbian made MG42S is non-restricted, FRT# 124942-1. I am sure that if Johnone can get them on the market he will do so.

ok a serious question here
I don't quite understand the law on this
I would like to purchase the semi mg42/m53 in the near future,
since no one is offering one in Canada for the time being, I looked for alternatives in States and the only good one is the BRP Corp
http://www.brpguns.com/mg42semi.htm

can I import their receiver (legally) and get it registered as a semi? will that work?
They come unassembled with everything you need, would that receiver be ok and would it be registrable here in canada.

by reading the site they seem legal here,
-newly made receiver
-semi only
-closed bolt
-cant accept orig. full auto bolt and components
-seems perfect

I have read here on the forum that I have to personally make the receiver in order to have it classified as a home built, and get it registered

any info would be appreciated
thanks to any one replies

call the RCMP firearms techs

they will NEED/WANT a WORKING gun to test for classification......

but IF the us will approve export import should not be a problem....

just remember also

IF the rcmp decide its prohib you have 3 choices

none of them you get the gun back....

destroy it

re-export it $$$$$$

donate it to thier labs

and maybe a 4th

see if they will allow it hipped to a licensed smith who can make changes and resubmit (if the changes are minor not new reciever )

That's what you wanted, right?
