I'll try to get a couple pics sometime in the next couple of days, but here's a description to start. I'm pretty sure it's German, but that's all I know.

It's a 12 gauge hammer sidelock, 27.5" barrels, splinter fore-end with a push rod attachment, and Greener style lockup.
On the top of the left barrel is "Prima" and on the right "Stahl" ("Prime Steel" in German, right?)

The side of the barrels are marked "Nitro" with an N with a crown over it.

The bottom of the right barrel has "B", "S", and "U" all with crowns over them, as well as "12" in a circle and "14" below and left of the circle.

The bottom of the left barrel has "B", "W", and "U" with crowns over them, "12" in a circle with "14/1" to the left, as well as "719" over "19" (is that the 19th gun made in July 1919?)

The water table has "N", "B", "U' with crowns. After the serial number on the water table and on the barrels there appears to be the initials "EF" in script.

And that's all the markings she has. She's in good solid working shape - has some surface rust and a couple small pits in the barrel, but nothing too bad. Just curious if it's a gun that I should keep original, or just a run of the mill to clean up and reblue.

Crown over B = German proof using Mauser M-71 powder.
Crown over N = German Nitro Proof.
Crown over N with "Nitro" = German Nitro proof circa 1912 - 1939.
Crown over S = German shotgun proof.
Crown over U = inspectors mark.
Crown over W = German choked barrel proof.
12 in a circle = 12 gauge chamber (2 1/2"?)
14 and 14/1 = bore diameter, a tight 12 gauge.
719 should be July 1917.

I don't know the significance of "EF" in script.

Any engraving? It sounds like between - the - wars guild gun. These are quality guns that can be shot to great effect with the right ammo. I would clean up the rust and rust blue the barrels. Nice find.

There's some engraving on the locks and the bottom of the frame.
I used adime to check the choke size - I think you're understating it when you say tight. :D
I took some extra fine steel wool to her over the weekend and then a dry buffing wheel on a dremel - I don't think she'll need refinishing at all.
Hopefully I should have pics later on this week.
