So whos waiting for a norinco t97? I have mine all paid for with the ammo source, just waiting for it to be sent out. Had mine ordered since december 3rd. Such a long wait. If only i could get some specs and see the internals. I think it would be awesome if it used an ar barrel. Would be awesome to do a 300 blackout conversion. One could only dream though. I will gladly post pictures once i get it.

Check out Wolverine Supplies thread on them. They have some photos showing the gun stipped and together and also with a tape measure showing the size.

I'm interested, but I really need some range/field reports before I even think about plunking down money on this plinker.

If it was not a bull pup and it was a little less fugly looking I would probably be waiting also… But I do get a tremendous kick out of the excitement of guys waiting for their guns to come in. I know the feeling, in fact I'm waiting for a SIG right now...it's funny, no matter how old you get, that excitement still happens!
Hope you guys love them when you get them, maybe this week!?

Calibre magazine had a very positive review a month or two ago which included range reports.
I also got to handle one and strip it at the store in Edmonton. It was a little awkward to assemble but I'm sure it would be much easier the second and third time. I was very impressed with the quality, better than any Norinco I've held before.
I don't think anyone is going to be disappointed with theirs as long as they go in with realistic expectations. This is a Chinese built battle rifle so don't expect Swiss Arms or HK fit and finish and don't be expecting sub moa groups and you will be happy.
I've been waiting for mine from Canada Ammo since Oct 2010 so a little longer isn't going to make any difference.
Definitely like to hear more range reports from fellow CGNers though so as soon as people start getting them out to the range be sure to post some info and pics.

Post in red rifles you might get a better response.
It uses an AR Mag. But it is still a red rifle

Who is the Ammo Source?

I put my name in with Camada Ammo. The rifle should be under $950.

$1049 is way too much

How is it a red rifle I don't get it. It's a black rifle with AR mags, should be under black and green rifles.

It is a commie rifle. Red.

why would it be in the red rifles section? isn't the red rifle section for firearms from the soviet union or eastern bloc countries? as far as I know China wasn't part of the com bloc, or the soviet union. they were supported by the soviet union but were never actually part of it. china and the soviets stopped being friends in 1962, a long time (I would imagine) before the type 97 was designed. by that logic then all norinco cq - a rifles should be in the red rifle section also. I might be wrong though
