i was wondering after reading all the great threads on yote hunting..once the ole dawg is down what do yous do with it?do you,s take the hide?do you,s eat the meat?do you,s get them mounted?or do you,s just leave them lay were they die?

I skin em out so long as they dont have mange.I have two in the pickling salts right now! I just recieved permission to hunt another large farm tonight so hopefully I'll be adding more to the stretcher board.

You have to get the hide off relatively quickly if your gonna sell it for fur.
Many trappers and fur sellers will buy them whole if you get them to them quickly!

The guy that does my taxidermy charges around 450 or 500 if i remember right for a dog mount. I have a bobcat up there right now and its gonna be around 400-450

Goverment gives us $25 here in Newfoundland for each dead yote we bring in...it can pay for the trip if your lucky!

You want to case skin the 'yote rather than split him up the middle if you're going to sell him for fur. Coyote hunting in my part of Newfoundland has sucked this year. Eastern half of the island has no snow. My friggin' lawn is still green and I was cutting up wood today in a T-shirt! Freaky or what? Had hoped to get a trip in out around Glenwood to do some snowmobiling and some serious coyote hunting but the fates have conspired against me! Totally jealous of all you guys on the mainland right now!
