Socom 18 - Glue on the stock?

I have two of these and both stocks look like monkeys had a glue fight.

What's the best way to get it off or can you?

You're sure it's glue and not oil/cosmoline?

There was some glue on mine as well, but not much. Good way to remove it is with WD40.
