Hi everyone,

I have a question about the safety on my m305.

When i pull the trigger the safety seems to slightly move towards disengagement. It does hold, though, no matter how hard I pull the trigger. It might be normal, but i feel like its worth questioning.

My main concern is, when I open the action with the safety on, it moves to the off position as the bolt moves back. It has always been like this.

The other day i took the trigger group apart for the first time to clean it up and i noticed the safety spring seems to slightly walk off the lug it sits on as i work the safety back and forth.

I reassembled it making sure seat the spring properly and didnt touch the safety until i reinstalled the trigger group in the rifle. This time the safety stayed off when i opened the action. As i continued to check a few times the problem returned.

Any idea how this could be remedied? Im thinking its either incorrect spring tension or more likely the angles of the safety mechanism are off causing the spring to move slightly to the side as tension changes. I assume the safety should stay on when i cycle the action.

When i perform the trigger group safety check (like the one in the stickies) it otherwise passes just fine.

Thanks in advance.
