Took the boys out in a bit of a blustery day but we had some luck. The boys got an ice cream treat on the way home which made me the best dad ever.

Nice! I was out too - 3000 km to the east with my 5 year old yellow lab. We got one rooster and flushed four hens. She rolled in deer guts to celebrate, so no f#cking ice cream.
Cheers,
Dave

Those are wild as my aching knees will attest , gonna go out again Tuesday when the weekend crowd disperses and its not -27 with windchill.

My last two male yellow labs spent there entire hunting lives chasing pheasants on Pelee and Scugog Islands in Ont. All the birds were pen raised and released though. Never had the opportunity to hunt wild pheasant as none ever survive one year to the next here. At least not in any appreciable numbers.

In the group of fellas I hunted with, we had Yellow Labs, Britney's, and a Wiemeraner. They all did a fine job, and loved it. We always told our wives it was the dogs hunting trips and we just had to do the driving and shoot the pheasants for them.
