Looking for a all round durable over under 12ga just for walking in the woods, might do a little hunting small game, Always wanted a over under, but, if I have to sink a fortune into one I will just stick with a pump. Any thoughts?

A. You get what you pay for. Spend the minimum you can and you will usually get a minimal product.
B. Over/Unders cost considerably more to make than pumps or even autoloaders. Therefore they cost more on average.
Your best dollar value is always a good used gun from a maker with a solid reputation of producing good quality guns. The next best bet is probably a new gun with warrantee from one of the up and coming producers of comparatively inexpensive guns. Today for an over/under that means a Turkish gun. Their early efforts were very erratic for quality, pretty much hit or miss but over the last 4-5 years some makers have managed to build up a decent reputation for reliability as well as value. Consider CZ, Churchill, Huglu in this category. These guns are not competitive over time with similar guns from Beretta, Browning, Rizzini, Caesar Guerini and others in fit, finish, reliability and longevity but at their price point they now seem to be providing a lot of gun for the price, perfectly adequate for hunting and casual range use occasionally.

Ashcroft is right, you get what you pay for. A used Citori or Silver Pigeon that's been even moderately well maintained will possibly have decades of shooting ahead of it.

If you decide to go the new route for an "affordable" O/U, Prophet River just got a load of Weatherby Orions in stock. Well-reviewed and backed by Weatherby warranty support - not sure what that means in Canada but every time I email them I get fast, concise responses. Made in Turkey by ATA to Weatherby specs. Not sure if they QA them in Sheridan or not but some prominent outdoorsfolks are partial to them.
