Some application for hand guns

I have this model of Stack On 8 gun cabinet, and I think that the design would benefit greatly if it included two 4-gun strips of the molded foam gun rests instead of just the open cell POS that is included with the package.

As you mentioned, there is very little room in there for 8 rifles, let alone scoped ones. I made my own gun rest by making a small shelf out of plywood, secured by L brackets. On top of this shelf, I secured a 1" thick foam cut to the profile of the original gun rest, but sits off the wall a lot more in order to accomodate scoped rifles. People who have AR style rifles with the big handle on top also need to do this.

I have the 8-gun (ready to assemble) and pistol cabinet on top of it for now, secured to my wall. When we move into a bigger place, I'll most likely go with the large side-by-side model, as I am quickly running out of room.

I bought the Stack-On elite. I'm happy with it. Although I think the gun capacity was somewhat exagerated. Still a decent product.
