Started with a Core 15 basic piston. Added free float rail, CTR Stock, MOE grip, Burris P.E.P.R. mount and MTAC. A few small upgrades left but most of what I want to do is done. Let me now what you think

It wouldn't be a normal week on CGN if there wasn't at least one pic posted with BUIS on backwards! Good looking rig there, well done.

To be sure. :D Nice setup though!

Just wondering: Why is it so common that BUIS installed backwards? General ignorance, CoD Black Ops propaganda, or just for s**ts and giggles?

We're guys. We don't read instructions. ;)

I so want an AR! How much was it for this particular model? I find it so hard to choose one. With Colt, S&W, Core, NEA, Armalite, Bushmaster, and so many others...I just feel lost! I know I DEFINITELY don't want a Norinco (I think anyway). I have heard that there are a lot of casting problems with the aluminum parts and that there are a lot of fitment issues with after market parts. I would spend an extra 3-500 bucks if it meant a nice quality AR. I have no interest in spending $2300-$2600 for mil-spec.

You should look at DD. Great value out of the box AR, nice rail system and barrel.

Wanstals caries the CORE 15. I believe the are great for the value. As does everyone I have known or heard of owning one. The basic piston Model which this one was is around 1200-1300$. IIRC. The DI basic is even cheaper. There are a couple different models to look at.

Use the search function, you will fin lots of threads on the subject

Last time I checked Questar has a couple 10.5" AR's in stock. They would also be included in their Christmas sale. I think they were $1249 and currently 10% off.

There is no reason at all that you can't find a new good quality rifle in the $1000-$1300 range.

Where is the best place to buy? I seen a S&W on irunguns.us for $1019+$200+tax. Would this be comparable?

Wolverine, One Shot and a few other sponsors above carry DD AR. S&W Sport model is a good rifle but for $300 more you'd get a top quality barrel, rail system, fit and finish DD rifle.

Irungun.ca has S&W M&P 15 with around $962 (tax and importing fee included) shipped to your door. This model does not have charging handle or dust cover tho.
That would be your cheapest option.
DD are good rifles, but the cheapest DD is $600 more than the S&W M&P sport.

Also, it depends on what you want to buy...DI Ar15 or piston Ar15.
Piston ar15 generally run $300 more than DI models, but piston are easier to clean and maintain.
