I just bought a Browning BL .22 from CGN but when I tried to look up the serial number 37B17328 it came back "no mach found". Does anyone know where I go from here? I just want to find out how old it is.

Well... that is an odd combination for the serial number. The fact that it has a single "B" and not a two numeral year code would indicate that it was manufactured from 1969 to 1975.

I asked this question in another form and someone said that it could be a 1973. They said that Browning were known for reversing the first two numbers sometimes. That would be awesome because that was the year I was born lol.

I was having same problem with a Browning pistol so I just sent an email to customer support and they gave me the information. plus they said serial numbers change formats and it is not explained well on the date your Browning site mine was the reverse of what was on the site
