Appears Tikka has paid attention to the PRS/ chassis gun market in the last while, 3 new offerings, Ace T3X Target, Ace Hunter and the Ace T1X. Butt plate adj in any direction, two kinds of thumb shelves, bagrider of their own, their own weight system, interchangeable forearms and butts, two different interchangeable mag setups as a centrefire. Haven't spotted a cartridge list yet, not up yet on the websites for Tikka or Sako. Appears they put a lot of thought into them. Supposedly, 16-1800.00 US

The downfall of any of the tikkas is their stupid magazine. They’re really expensive and really not that good. Most people I’ve seen with them have feeding problems. The rest of the rifle should be solid for a factory match ready rifle.

It will be interesting to see how it goes cause they make a solid rifle. Looks like it’s ambidextrous so southpaws will get a chance at a solid rig to start with.

I like Tikkas mag system for switch barrel setups however for the PRS platform I can see it being an issue so I’m surprised they aren’t offering an ACIS mag setup but then again the Tikka rifle really isn’t optimized for that system as there is no long and short action just different bolt stops.

I’d go standard magwell and run aftermarket mags. Then I can actually go from long action cartridges to short ones if I want to.

I’d like to buy the chassis by itself and the way they talked about it fitting older stuff I’m thinking you might be able to at one point.

The T1x mags are complete garbage. I have 6 of them and 2 work OK.

T3x I've never had an issue with 2 rifles and both 3 and 5 rounders for each. Price is way out of line as you comment.

No folding right? That feels like a miss on the Hunter version... the Sig Cross needs some competition in the backpackable rifle segment IMO.

FYI the MDT polymer magazines will direct fit into the tikka CTR pattern magazine well, just with some very minor sanding down of the locking notch in the mag.

Although I’ve not had any problems with their double stock magazines I like to have a cheap alternative available

Thanks for the tip! They're located out in Chilliwack. I could drive there.

Is that a .223 Rem rifle in the picture?

Also, do you know if the MDT short action metal mags work in the Tikka CTR?

I forgot to ask how well the MDT polymer mags feed?

I've heard that the Tikka T3X CTR .223 Rem, 10 round mags have a problem feeding the last two rounds.

Can you confirm if the MDT 10 or 12 round mags feed all of the rounds smoothly?

Beretta came up with a solution for their expensive mags & a Grey Birch MFG chassis to go with it for their BRX1 model.

Perhaps Tikka will adopt it in the future.

If an average Tikka hunter rifle can group three shot groups between 15/16 to 1 inch at 200 meters, with factory ammo, how much more accuracy could a guy expect with the new offerings? seriously, because if they are even more accurate, I don't know what to think. They are already awsome enough....

I was more interested in the chassis. It’s pretty cheap for what it looks like.
