The single shot is my fouling shot from a clean barrel. The grouping is 5 shots fired from bench with front rest and rear bag 200 yards winds were gusting to 25km from my right to left temp +10 C:), I was trying to shoot between gusts. My cases are Lapua FL resized and cleaned in the ultrasonic also annealed with primer pocket uniforming. The powder 83 grains of RL-25 with Federal Match magnum large rifle primers, bullets 300 grain Scenars COL is 3.720" .020" off the lands. The calipers were zeroed at .338" so the actual grouping is what it reads.

Really happy with this rifle Thanks Ross! I am so excited to get the new LRT-3

:redface: I forgot my Chrony today but at 80.7 grains it was shooting
2460 FPS so my best guess would be 2560 max for 83 grains. As a reference I get 2620 fps from 84 grains of H-1000

Hey,
I think I seen you shoot that gun at Silverdale yesterday. You had that Lhasa apso dog named Molly? The dog was wearing a pink collar with diamonds.

For reference, my 338 LM gets 2725fps from my 28.5" barrel and 300 SMKs under 87.0 grs RL 25. No notable pressure, but accuracy trumps velocity in any case. Looks like you have a great load as is.

I am going to definitely try some larger charges of powder and see what I get thanks for the info!

You sick Greek bastard stop stalking my Molly! and I thought it was enough to send you that pic of her pink pucker hole I thought that would satisfy your sick
Greek urges. Really what will it take to get you to stop perhaps a picture of Molly in a sheep costume:p:p This will have to do for now!

I run 93 grains Retumbo in my .338 RUM for a velocity of 2765fps with 300SMK's. Not a Lapua but very similar charge weight. I tried RL25 but found it too unstable tempature wise. I've found the hodgdon extreme powders to be very stable. I believe that 89 grains is a good starting point for 300Scenars and H1000. Ive heard alot of Lapua shooters say that 92 grains H1000 is cash money. Nice rifle and groups.

I would start alot under 89grians with H1000 in my gun I was seeing slight pressure signs at only 88 with once fired Lapua brass and 300smk's.
