imagine you bought that and tried it and it shot better than anything you ever shot... and you couldnt' get it again..
That's what happened to Federal Gold Medal Ultra Match(UM1), was designed for US Olympic shooters to win medals. Before then US competitors were trading Levi's for Russian 22lr. it's all super interesting, Anyways after that federal sold the UM1 on the commercial market at a loss(before precision rimfire was mainstream) Federal had sold once or twice I believe and Federal UM1 was gone with the wind. People still regard it as the white Buffalo. I'm sure newer Lapua and SK offerings shoot better. but a fun story non the less.

My goodness, that's awesome. To have it in that condition given its age. Incredible find. And yes there are collectors out there who would LOVE to have some of this for their display cases, or just even have in their collection as a part of history.

In the 50's and 60's in Alberta the local hardware store sold both Super Clean and WhizBang for 75 cents per box and buying a brick earned a free box of ammo. $6.75 for a brick. Since the Super c lean was creased it was not a good idea to carry them in you pocket.
The dry lube would be replaced with the copper clad today.

ive shot a fair bit of it in the past. had an uncle that used to buy a couple cases off it every year and maybe shoot 2 boxs. you shoulda seen the smiles on our faces when we were about 14 and discovered a bedroom closset stacked to the roof with it
